Gerena's 10th inning single lifts Knights past C.W. Post, 5-4

Noel Gerena Jr. singled through the hole into left with one out and the bases loaded to drive home Wei Chang with the game winner in the 10th inning as the Knights defeated C.W. Post, 5-4 on a misty afternoon in Flushing. It was the second consecutive day that QC beat Post in 10.

The Knights had rallied from a 4-3 deficit to tie the game in the ninth on a one out single by Jared Stoler that drove in Matt Ortiz. Stoler (pictured) was three for four with two RBI, raising his average to .338.

The home team jumped out to an ealry lead with two runs in the first but Post manged to push two runs across in the fourth off of Knights' starter William Marte to tie the score. QC retook the lead with a run in the sixth but once again C.W. Post answered, this time with two in the eighth off of Timothy Francis to go up, 4-3.

Daniel Kupec relieved Francis and held Post to just one hit over two innings of work, giving the Knights the chance to mount a comeback and pick up the win in the process. Shortstop David Francis also had three hits in five at bats for QC on the afternoon.
