Starters pitch well but Knights drop a pair to Concordia

The Knights got quality starts from William Marte and Timothy Francis but still dropped a pair of games to Concordia College on Saturday in Flushing. Concordia won the first game 6-2 and took the nightcap 2-0 in seven innings.
Marte surrendered the only run of his outing in the first inning of game one as he struck out nine in 6.2 innings of work. Concordia broke a 1-1 tie with five runs in the eighth off of Arik Abrams and Daniel Kupec after QC had tied the game a half an inning earlier. Carlos Suarez was two for four with a solo home run and Jarod Stoler singled in Anthony Delury to account for the Knights offense.
Francis was the hard luck loser for QC in game two. The freshman from Farmingdale was charged with two unearned runs and five hits over 6.2 innings. James Demsky was two for two with a double for the Knights.
