Baseball: Three Knights signed, another honored by the Long Island Ducks
Three Knights - Daniel Kupec, Jamie Quinn and Brian Honeyman - were signed to professional contracts this summer while former QC standout Justin Davies was named to the Long Island Ducks 10th Anniversary All-Time Team.

Tom Sowinski introduced as new Baseball Coach
Tom Sowinski was introduced today as the new Queens College Baseball Coach. Sowinski becomes the 16th coach in the 69 year history of Knights baseball.

All-Star nod for Stoler
Jared Stoler was named a 2009 East Coast Conference Baseball all-star in a poll taken of the league's head coaches. The senior from Plainview, New York earned third team honors at catcher.

Season ending split with Mercy for Knights
The Knights brought the curtain down on the 2009 season by spliting a doubleheader with Mercy College on Saturday in Flushing. The visitors held on for a 10-8 win in game one while William Marte pitched QC to a 4-3 victory in the nightcap.

The Knights banged out 14 hits and Brian Friedman threw his sixth complete game of the season in a 10-3 win at Mercy College on Friday afternoon.

C.W. Post rallies to beat the Knights, 5-2
The Knights led 2-1 after seven innings but lost, 5-2, to C.W. Post on Wednesday afternoon in Flushing. Post scored a run in the eighth to tie the game and three in the ninth to win it.

Strong pitching enables Knights to take series from Bridgeport
Strong efforts from the Knights pitching staff enabled them to split a doubleheader with Bridgeport on Saturday after taking game one of the three game set on Friday. Eric Reyes and Kyle Contino pitched QC to a 5-1 win in the nightcap after Willie Marte was outdueled in a 3-0 loss in the opener.

Stoler drives in three in win at Bridgeport
Jared Stoler had three hits and three RBIs in a 6-3 Knights' victory over the University of Bridgeport on Friday in West Haven, Connecticut. Brian Friedman went the distance for QC to pick up his second win of the year.

Softball at Bridgeport and Baseball vs. C.W. Post rescheduled
The softball doubleheader between Queens College and the University of Bridgeport, originally scheduled for Tuesday, Arpil 21st at Bridgeport has been cancelled. Additionally, the baseball game against C.W. Post, scheduled for April 21st, has been postponed and will be played on April 29nd at Queens College.

St. Thomas Aquinas College beat the Knights, 11-1 and 5-3, at Rockland Community College on Sunday. Junior Wei Chang went two for three in each game for QC.

Gerena's 10th inning single lifts Knights past C.W. Post, 5-4
Noel Gerena Jr. singled through the hole into left with one out and the bases loaded to drive home Wei Chang with the game winner in the 10th inning as the Knights defeated C.W. Post, 5-4 on a misty afternoon in Flushing. It was the second consecutive day that QC beat Post in 10.

Ten shutout innings from Friedman in 3-0 win at C.W. Post
Brian Friedman shut out C.W. Post for 10 innings and the Knights rallied for three runs in the 10th for a 3-0 win in Brookville, New York on Monday afternoon. Friedman limited Post to five hits and a walk while fanning eight to pick up the complete game win.

The Knights dropped the rubber game of their weekend series with Dowling College, 16-0 on Sunday in Flushing, New York. The two squads split a doubleheader on Saturday in Brookhaven.

The Knights rallied for three runs in the eighth and William Marte picthed a complete game six hitter to beat Dowling College, 4-1, in game two of a conference double dip in Brookhaven, New York on a blustery Saturday afternoon. Dowling won game one, 12-0.

Brian Friedman fanned nine and allowed just four hits and one earned run over eight innings of work but lost a 4-3 decision to Adelphi in Garden City on Wednesday. Jared Stoler and Carlos Suarez each had two hits in four at bats for the Knights.

Concordia College shut out Queens College, 5-0, in Bronxville, New York on Sunday afternoon in an East Coast Conference clash. The Knights have now gone 16 innings without pushing across a run.

The Knights got quality starts from William Marte and Timothy Francis but still dropped a pair of games to Concordia College on Saturday in Flushing. Concordia won the first game 6-2 and took the nightcap 2-0 in seven innings.

West Chester University shut out QC, 9-0, on Saturday morning at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Knights rap up their trip tomorrow at noon against Briarcliffe College.

Baseball drops a pair in Myrtle Beach
Errors were the downfall of the Knights as they fell to Felician College and Bloomfield College in their 2009 season openers at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Two bright spots for QC were David Fisher and Jared Stoler, each of whom had four hits on the day.

Baseball's Quinn Signs Independent League Pro Contract
Jamie Quinn, who wrapped up his collegiate career at Queens College two months ago, recentley sign a contract to play in the New York State League. The New York State League is an Independent Professional Rookie League.

Redman and Honeyman Named Silver Knights
The 2007-2008 season culminated with the annual Queens College Athletics Department Awards Dinner at Ricardo's by the Bridge in Astoria on Thursday, May 15, 2008. Brian Honeyman of Baseball and Diana Redman of Soccer were the big winners while Women's Soccer Coach Roby Young was feted for his outstanding service to Queens College Athletics.

Knights ace hurler named 2008 ECC Pitcher of the Year
Knights ace hurler Brian Honeyman has been chosen 2008 East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year in a consensus of the conference's head baseball coaches. Honeyman was also named first team all-ECC while teammate Jamie Quinn earned third team honors as a first baseman.

Mike Sporton led a 15 hit attack with three hits, including a home run, and three RBI's in a 12-10 Knights' loss to New Haven on Sunday in Flushing. The loss brings an end to QC's 2008 season.

Queens College rallied twice late in the game to tie Mercy College, 6-6, in 10 innings on Friday afternoon. Catcher Jared Stoler went four for five with a homer and two RBI's for the Knights in a home game played on Mercy's field in Dobbs Ferry, New York.

Jovan Santos went five for six with three runs batted in to lead Queens College to a 10-5 win at Mercy College on Wednesday afternoon in Dobbs Ferry. David Kupec picked up the win with two innings of spotless, three strike out relief while Brian Honeyman earned the save by throwing two scoreless innings with three punch outs as well.
